Hi! I am Sarah Waters, a 60-year-old portrait photographer serving clients nationwide.

The Light That Holds You Portrait Experience is more than a photo session. It’s an invitation ~ to celebrate your strength and share your story by stepping into the light.

An inclusive space where your boldness and natural beauty are celebrated, exactly as you are, right now.

This series weaves together two of my deepest loves: the art of storytelling and the power of human connection.

As an adoptee who lost my mother, Shurlee, at age 11, the weight of that absence shaped everything. Thankfully, my father was a photographer and I have stunning images of her. They’ve kept her close all these years and are some of my most cherished possessions.

My approach is gentle, intuitive, and designed to help you feel relaxed in front of the camera ~ so your portraits reflect who you are.

Let’s create legacy images you’ll treasure ~ I have a limited spaces remaining for this series in cities along Route 66 in August in Chicago, St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Albequerque, Winslow, Santa Monica or possibly your city!

I can’t wait to meet you,
Sarah

In the past looking at pictures of me, I always thought they didn’t capture me. I didn’t even recognize myself.

Sarah has a gift. She is able to capture not just how you look on the outside but more so who you are on the inside, how you feel. And I love that. Plus, while getting pampered at the photoshoot, it feels great to make new friends!

I am grateful for the generous way in which Sarah has seen us all. You should know what a joy it is to be photographed by someone who sees so deeply.

Sarah Waters has an artist’s vision and a poet’s sensibility to see beyond the seen, to the spirit.

Bravo, Sarah, and thank you for sharing your seeing of us with the world!

Freedom

She’s seldom welcomed, but she owns the room.

The purpose, hers.

Years of running into a wall, when it’s the only way out.

Legs firm – her ground secure.

Heart centered – purpose claimed.

Mind forward – fate designed.

Spirit driven;
she leaps into her own divinity.
